Lessons for Complete Novices and Experienced Riders
We have a carefully selected range of well cared for ponies and horses to provide the size, type and temperament of mount to suit any rider, from complete novices and children as young as 4 years of age to experienced riders. Whatever your ability, we have a horse or pony that you will enjoy riding safely. All instructors are B.H.S. qualified and all rides are accompanied by experienced leaders to ensure you enjoy the full pleasures of riding good horses safely in beautiful surroundings. Riding hats are provided free and conform to British Standards requirements.
Bridlepath Walks, approx ½ hour from £12.00 - Ideal for Noives or Nervous riders (Great introduction to horse riding)
These are designed especially for complete beginners and families who want to enjoy a safe horse ride, we will lead you on our own Bridlepath around woods and fields. One of the safest and most enjoyable things that novices can do on horseback & a great indroduction for first time riders.
Hacks
We offer 1 hour, 1½ hour, 2 hour and 2 hour Beach rides, which cater for the more experienced riders. Our location has access to superb hacking, both on the nearby hillside, over farm tracks and also via our private permissive bridlepath to Talacre beach offering 5 miles of golden sands with splendid views of the coastline and local scenery. Our Bridlepath to the beach is the northern point of the BHS North to South Wales Bridleway. This section is called the "Sea Horse Ride" which runs 53 miles from Talacre to Glyndyfrdwy where it joins the William Morgan Ride (further information on www.bhs.org.uk) "Sea horse ride answers the call of the wild"
Qualified Instructors
All lessons are structured towards the rider’s ability whether they are in a group or in a private lesson, our aim is to safely provide enjoyment whilst improving your skills.
Pony Club
We are a registered Pony Club Centre, membership is open to boys and girls under the age of 21 and offers some great benefits. In addition to learning how to ride, Members can compete against each other and take part in a wide range of activities. Nearly all of Britain's most successful riders were once a Member of The Pony Club.
Our Pony Club is held every Saturday 1.00pm to 5.00pm, Children can work towards achieving certificates, awards & badges and have fun while learning how to care for their ponies. Make new friends whilst enjoying the great outdoors.
Tiny Tots Club
The aim of this club is to safely introduce children between the ages of 4-6 years to ponies and riding. As well as riding, they will learn how to safely approach, groom and work around a pony. They can also work towards Pony Club mini badges such as Grooming and Tacking Up badges. Tiny Tots Club is on every Friday 4.00pm - 5.00pm and Saturday mornings 10.30am to 11.30am and Sundays 1pm – 2pm
'Own A Pony' Day's
Your child can spend the day with us during School Holidays and weekends. An opportunity to have a fun packed, exciting day including 2 hours of riding/lessons, lectures, hands-on grooming and general pony care. A wonderful way to gain experience and really improve your riding. Own a pony days are on every day during holidays and during term time every weekend from 10am - 4pm, Suitable clothes are required. Please bring either a packed lunch or your child can purchase a snack from Bridlewood Cafe.
Also Half Day Own a Pony sessions are available
Ladies Morning Club
Enjoy a relaxing and informal morning of horse care and a riding lesson and then finish the morning with coffee and light refreshments in the company of like-minded people in a relaxing environment every Thursday 10am - 12pm
Birthday Parties
Why not celebrate your childs Birthday or Special Occasion with us at Bridlewood, with a Horse Ride on quiet horses. These parties are tailored to suit children's ages and abilities and are suitable for both riders and non riders, we can even arrange for you to have a treasure hunt, food is available from our café and includes full use of our party room
Disabled Riders
Are especially welcome for quiet rides with very careful supervision by prior arrangement. We must be informed of any disability, medical condition or special needs at the time of booking. We have disabled toilet facilities and mounting blocks.
We also have a full risk assessment for disabled riders and are licensed with the local authority - care homes in the Denbighshire, Flintshire & Conwy area use our facilities
Activity Bookings
Catering for team building within the Workplace, Clubs and Associations and Birthday Parties. An interesting, informative, fun session comprising of caring for the horse, horse riding, team challenges and a BBQ or snack. Please enquire for further details.
